Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) Mission Statement 

Introduction 

The Parkinson’s Foundation is a community, an alliance, and a movement to improve lives and advance toward a cure.  

Based on the Foundation’s vision as shown to the right, the professional education program endeavors to: 

  • Provide life-changing resources to people living with Parkinson’s and their caregivers as well as other related areas of neurology. 
  • Convene the best minds from every corner of the global Parkinson’s community to find new approaches that enhance care and move toward a cure. 
  • Based on experience and informed by facts, the interprofessional education program focuses on the healthcare team that serves people with Parkinson’s disease and related neurological disorders and their families and caregivers, and provides programs based on current clinical evidence and clinical reasoning. 
  • Foster an environment of teamwork to optimize the outcomes of care. 

Expected Results 

The following are the expected results from the Parkinson’s Foundation’s IPCE program: 

  • Adopt skills and strategies to better diagnose, treat, and manage the symptoms related to the progression of Parkinson’s disease and other related neurological disorder as appropriate.  

  • Foster a collaborative and interprofessional team-based approach that contributes to optimal outcomes in the care of persons with Parkinson’s disease and/or related neurological disorders. 

  • Impact best practices in Parkinson’s disease and other related neurological areas of medicine care by implementing educational tools for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers, pharmacists, and other members of care team.
