This multi-part course highlights key recommendations and strategies to promote optimal care and health outcomes for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) during planned and unplanned hospital stays.

This can include an inpatient, outpatient and emergency department hospital encounters.

Professional Ed Talks: Hospitalization

This multi-part course highlights the link between research, clinical medicine, and community health improvement.

 It is designed to equip health professionals with information related to Parkinson's medication management, challenges specific to the hospital setting, implications of Parkinson's medication errors, and opportunities for active, educational, and technological solutions in line with best practice. 

 

 

Optimization of Inpatient Medication Administration among Persons with Parkinson’s disease: Recommendations on Pharmacy Technology and Workflow 

When hospitalized, people with Parkinson’s are at risk of complications resulting from inaccurate medication administration. While hospital pharmacists are not solely responsible for the accuracy of medication administration, they play an integral role in safe pharmacotherapy.
