Improving the Recognition of the Neuropsychiatric Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease: Key Assessment ConsiderationsParkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized by an array of motor and non-motor features.

Neuropsychiatric symptoms (i.e., depression, anxiety, psychosis, sleep disturbances, and cognitive impairment) are common and primary for many, interacting with the physical aspects of the disease process to create the perfect storm of disability and distress. Effective screening & assessment approaches are critical in order to optimize overall PD care. This presentation will identify and describe the neuropsychiatric symptoms that are frequently experienced by people with PD and discuss strategies to facilitate effective screening and assessment.
