Each course can be created as a single, standalone course, or a "parent" course that contains multiple smaller courses.

Standalone courses typically contain one major topic, and will have a total seat time of  3.5 hours or less. 

Here is an example of a standalone course. 

Parent courses contain multiple smaller courses that cover a variety of focuses inside one topic. This is used for longer courses to break them down into smaller, microlearning segments. 

Here is an example of a parent/multi-part course. 

If you are planning on awarding credit for multiple different lessons inside one topic, we recommend a multi-part course.
