This interactive, case-based course explores how an interprofessional approach to Parkinson’s disease care improves outcomes, enhances communication, and honors each person's preferences throughout their journey.
Through three real-world scenarios, the course highlights individuals with Parkinson’s at different stages of the disease - each with unique needs, support systems, and care teams.

- Select relevant proactive approaches to enhance patient-centered care for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners.

Glenn is a person living with Parkinson’s Disease and volunteers in numerous initiatives and programs with the Parkinson’s Foundation and other Parkinson’s-related professional associations. He began his career as a physical therapist and co-authored text materials on kinesiological surface electromyography and musculoskeletal pain, and presented extensively on clinical topics in national and international settings.

Kristi is a tenured associate Professor of Biology and Health Sciences and was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s disease (YOPD) after a circuitous journey leading to diagnosis. Laura is a Parkinson's Ambassador with the David Phinney Foundation and Parkinson's Ambassador for the World Parkinson's Congress WPC 2026. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 40. Her commitment extends to participation in local, national and international events related to Parkinson's, awareness. Laura loves time with family and friends, practicing yoga, painting, traveling and outdoor activities.

Margie Zimmerman is a certified family nurse practitioner with over 23 years of clinical experience to include multiple assignments in rural Alaska. She has taught in the undergraduate and graduate level nursing programs at accredited universities.
