This course contains all live day evaluations as well as credit claiming. Please enroll in this course as you have the prerequisites, and prepare to have this course available at the end of your live team training days.

After the end of the final day of team training, you will be directed back here to claim your credits and certificate.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify key strategies for challenges associated with Parkinson’s and side effects of PD medications.
  2. Establish skills to support a person with Parkinson’s and their care partners in improving self-management.
  3. Discuss key characteristics of early, middle, and late-stage Parkinson’s disease.
  4. Explain interprofessional healthcare team members’ care coordination in the management in Parkinson's disease and potential impact on quality of life of people with Parkinson's and care partners.
  5. Describe the unique and complementary roles of each profession in the interprofessional team and how to work collaboratively to improve patient care.
  6. Identify strategies for building interprofessional networks and community partnerships of care.

Nurses

Parkinson’s Foundation has been authorized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to award CNE credit. This activity is designated for 27.00 CNE credits.  Participants should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Physician Assistants 

Parkinson’s Foundation has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 27.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval valid through October 24, 2027. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent.   

 

Psychologists 

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.  27.00 CE hours. 

 
Social Workers 

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Parkinson’s Foundation is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Parkinson’s Foundation maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 27.00 ASWB credits continuing education credits.
