Ashley Paul, MD
Dr. Ashley Paul is Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Movement Disorders at Johns Hopkins University as well as the co-Clerkship Director for the Neurology Clerkship through the School of Medicine. She is currently completing a Master of Education in the Health Professions at Johns Hopkins School of Education and a GME Distinction Track in Health Systems Science. She won the 2021 Neurology Fellow Brain Award: a Neurology Clerkship award for outstanding clinical teaching and for providing an effective and enjoyable teaching environment for medical students. She has been recently nominated by medical students for her distinction in clinical education and potential induction into the Distinguished Teaching Society of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her neurology residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 2020 where she was a co-investigator in a pilot multi-site clinical trial that compared the effects of distinct types of exercise on non-motor symptoms of Parkinson disease. She was also appointed academic chief which enabled her to make curriculum innovations that received positive feedback from peers. This included OSCE simulations of emergent neurological cases and online learning activities for neurology residents who could not gather for traditional didactics due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
