Comprehensive and Equitable Care for People with Parkinson’s by Community Providers
Course Goal
This course is designed to educate healthcare professionals who may not see people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) on a regular basis, about Parkinson’s diagnosis, treatments, and pharmacological management. This course emphasizes the importance of cultural competency and collaborating with interprofessional healthcare team members to provide optimal and customized care for each patient.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Integrate considerations of diversity, equity and inclusivity in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Parkinson’s.
- Utilize Parkinson’s disease rating scales to recognize the signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease to aid in an earlier and more accurate diagnosis.
- Incorporate members of the interprofessional healthcare team to create a customized treatment plan, including pharmacologic management, for people with Parkinson’s.
