This presentation introduces MI and the skills needed to utilize it in a clinical setting. Role play with a Parkinson’s Foundation Aware in Care Ambassador highlights how this type of conversation is perceived by a person with Parkinson’s disease.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the elements of motivational interviewing spirit;
- Identify the five communication skills associated with motivational interviewing; and
- Discuss how patients perceive motivational interviewing.
