Joan Gardner RN BSN is the National Co-Director of the Parkinson’s Foundation’s Community Partners in Parkinson’s Care program, which provides Parkinson’s education to senior communities and home care agencies across the U.S.  Previously Joan was Nurse Clinician for 30 yours at the Struthers Parkinson’s Center in Golden Valley, MN, a Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence, providing nursing expertise for patients, families, and health professionals.  Prior to this, she worked in Skilled Home Care for 15 years.  Joan also served as nursing faculty for the Parkinson’s Foundation’s interprofessional Team Training course.  She has co-authored numerous resources and publications, including the Parkinson’s Foundation “Caring and Coping” book.  Joan currently participates in the International Movement Disorder Society work group on Interdisciplinary Care in Parkinson’s.
