Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and their impact on mobility, mood, cognition and quality of life.
- Recognize the importance of medications on time for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and incorporate timely medication administration into daily practice.
- Integrate skills to develop comprehensive care plans for their clients/residents with Parkinson’s utilizing an interprofessional team approach that include appropriate treatment/management strategies for care.
- Demonstrate site champion responsibilities including PD staff education, data outcome collection and ongoing communication with CPPC staff.

In support of improving patient care, Parkinson's Foundation is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
IPCE
This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 10.5 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.
Nurses
Parkinson's Foundation designates this enduring material for a maximum of 10.5 ANCC contact hours. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Parkinson’s Foundation is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Parkinson’s Foundation maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 10.5 ASWB credits continuing education credits.
