The Expert Care Experience: Role of Nurses in Caring for People with Parkinson's

With more than 1 million people in the U.S. living with Parkinson's disease (PD), nurses will likely care for someone with Parkinson's and need to understand the nuances of this disease.

This course will review the different roles that a nurse plays in the life of someone living with PD and their care partners. No matter the setting, when working with someone with PD, have an opportunity to impact quality of life. 

Nurses will have a special opportunity to hear from a person with Parkinson's and a care partner discussing their experiences in different settings.

  • Implement optimal communication strategies to use within intra- and inter-professional care teams to provide realistic expectations for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners.
