To help healthcare professionals deliver culturally competent, high-quality Parkinson’s care, the Parkinson’s Foundation, with support from the CVS Health Foundation, developed a free, six-part series of self-paced online accredited courses that offer valuable information to those who care for people with Parkinson’s.
Each year, nearly one-third of the one million Americans living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) will experience a hospital encounter.
Despite the frequency of these encounters, delivery of quality hospital care for people with Parkinson’s remains elusive. We can close these gaps in care by aligning the self-advocacy efforts of people with PD with clinical education and standardized care protocols in every hospital.
Professional Education Talks are accredited short (one hour or less) courses that focus on peer-to-peer interaction and best practice implementation strategies while including real world scenarios with people with Parkinson’s.
Each interprofessional team member plays a role in providing palliative care. As palliative care needs are significant contributors to quality of life in Parkinson's disease, an outpatient palliative care model may improve symptom burden in PD, and improve end-of-life care.
