Maggie Abbott, PT, DPT
Maggie Abbott, PT, DPT, has been a practicing neurologic physical therapist for 12 years, and the majority of her career has been focused on health promotion and wellness specific to people with Parkinson's. Dr. Abbott graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Austin and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010 from Texas Women's University in Dallas. She has fulfilled several roles with the Houston Area Parkinson Society (HAPS) since 2015, including group exercise instructor, Director of Outreach, and her current position as Coordinator of Institutional Collaborations, and she has presented on Parkinson's and balance, fall prevention, building a rehab team, exercise, and freezing of gait. Dr. Abbott is a LSVT BIG certified clinician, member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and serves as a presenter and volunteer with the APTA section on geriatrics.
