Physical Therapy Course
The Physical Therapy Course delivers practical, evidence-based knowledge on effectively assessing and treating individuals with Parkinson's disease.
Designed by expert physical therapists, clinicians, researchers, and educators in the Parkinson's space, this course uses video lectures and interactive learning to prepare physical therapy professionals to better understand how to deliver comprehensive Parkinson's care.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Differentiate between Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonisms based on the cardinal signs, as well as motor and non-motor symptoms, of PD.
2. Explain the role and importance of neurorehabilitation for improving motor performance in PD.
3. Describe the elements of a secondary prevention approach as a model of care in the treatment of persons with Parkinson's disease.
4. Demonstrate the core set of outcome measures recommended by the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy EDGE (Evidence Database to Guide Effectiveness) Task Force in the care of persons with Parkinson's disease.
5. Design programs for people with PD based on aerobic and resistance training research findings for both intensity and overload.
6. Build an interdisciplinary care team for optimal quality of life for people with PD and their families.
