Learning Objectives

At the end of this chapter, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify and define the cardinal features of Parkinson’s and common motor and non-motor symptoms.
  2. Categorize the pharmacology and physiology of antiparkinsonian medications and identify the potential benefits and contraindications of surgical treatments in Parkinson’s.
  3. Define neuroplasticity, identify the role of neurorehabilitation in early-stage PD, and examine the impact of exercise on improving motor performance in PD.
